Nintendo has confirmed that the upgraded *Switch 2 Editions* of *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* will **not cloud saves**, raising concerns among fans about data backup. 681f2o

Store listings on the US and EU Nintendo eShops include a disclaimer noting that **Save Data Cloud backup is not ed**, despite being a standard feature for Nintendo Switch Online . Oddly, the Japanese store pages still list cloud saves as available, and other Switch 2 titles like *Metroid Prime 4* and *Kirby and the Forgotten Land* do not carry the same warning.

While players can transfer existing save data from the original Switch, **new backups can’t be created** for these versions. This means any progress made on the upgraded games won’t be backed up to the cloud unless Nintendo changes course.

Despite this limitation, both *Zelda* titles will benefit from significant enhancements on Switch 2, including **faster load times, improved resolution, smoother frame rates, HDR **, and **new achievements** tracked via the Nintendo Switch App. Each game will cost **$70**, with a **$10 upgrade option** for existing owners.

Nintendo also announced a new title, *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment*, a prequel to *Tears of the Kingdom*, launching in **Winter 2025**.
