Caucasian Streamer Identifies as African American to 1so8

After claiming that he is now Black, a Facebook Gaming streamer faced a lot of backlashes and was banned from the site. Jerry Banfield is best-known for his Warzone content. These claims were made live via stream yesterday (16 February) and, as reported by Ginx TV was criticised for mocking Black people during Black History Month (in Canada and the US). 673y4

“I’m serious. I’m serious. I’m serious. I’m serious. I’m serious. Banfield stated that he is now a Black man and that he identifies as African American. He doesn’t want to be called “white”.

The streamer continued to his claims by making parallels with transgender people, who (rightfully!) express their right of identifying as the gender that they are, regardless if they have had gender reassignment or not.

He said, “I could look down today and see the penis right there and say, ‘I’m woman, everybody, I am a woman.'” “And I chose that I am Black. I’m sick of being white.

This is a very serious issue. Facebook clearly recognized this too. They have severed all ties to the streamer ever since the videos went viral.

“Thanks to everyone who alerted us to a stream this morning that ran contrary to the spirit of Black History Month,” Facebook Gaming posted on Twitter. “We have severed all ties with the creator of the live stream and removed them from our official programs. They also no longer have access to monetisation tools.

Banfield is unlikely to make a comeback anytime soon. He hasn’t even apologized for his actions.
